This berry is imported form China. It used to be banned by the FDA because it was thought to be contaminated by a dangerous citrus canker. Today; due to a special processing and steam treatment it is allow to be imported again. These tiny, reddish-brown peppercorns are noted for their strong, pungent lemony flavor that distinguishes them from black peppercorns. IT IS USED IN CHINESE CUISINE, GRINDED OVER POTATOES, ROASTED MEAT AND POULTRY.
