Others liked it more than I did,
Well. If you're like me, you would be careful on buying food on the internet. So I'll try to make this review very specific, so you know what you're buying.
First off--the packaging/shipping. Good, protective, fast. [5 days to receive order]. Neat red box. The torte measures about 8.5 inches lengthwise, 3 widthwise. Weighs 18 oz [510g].
First bite: delicious. Second bite: Gets a bit sweet.
Right when I tasted this, I tasted preservatives in the raspberry layers, so I checked the ingredients on the back of the wrapper. There were preservatives, and it's 50% percent per slice [1/6 of the torte, serves 6] and 43% total fat.
I don't really favor the fact that all sides, besides the middle is covered in hard chocolate, which makes the torte hard to cut. The chocolate tastes sweeter than usual. I like the inside more than the out.
'Contains: Eggs, milk, soy, wheat, peanuts and tree nuts.'
Anyway, the taste. Tastes alright, like any other layered cake. Somewhat sweet, when you get used to it. If you've ever had Ghirardelli Raspberry Chocolate Squares, that's kinda like most the raspberry tastes like, except more solid. Can't say much about this product. I didn't like it as much as others did--the others loved it.
