Forget the Marmite, Where's the Vegemite?
Where can I get the Australian version: Vegemite? I know marmite well, but truly Vegemite beats it hands down. Technically the same product, but you must try Vegemite it's so much better.

Bring your taste buds, leave behind narrowmindedness.
I just wanted to start by responding to some of the claims made here. Firstly, you do not need to be a particular nationality or type of person to like Marmite. That's just ridiculous. Secondly, it is not a "cultural thing" to enjoy savory or "umami" foods, any more than it is cultural to like sweet, sour, bitter, or salty flavors. You either like it or you don't. Does everyone like double fudge ice cream? Incredibly, no. I find Marmite delicious, but potent. I think many times people don't enjoy it because they've eaten a gob straight from the jar or they spread it like jam. That's too much! Try it spread very thinly or add a SMALL dollop to your savory sauces and stocks. I highly recommend trying it. You may love it. If not, at least admit it's a matter of preference rather than rant like a xenophobic donkey's rump.

Don't Buy if You are from America!
I am told that if you are from England (or Australia) then you will LOVE this product. However, if you are from America, you will NOT like this, so don't even bother. If your curiosity happens to get the better of you (as mine did), its definitely fun to buy something so international and my kids had a blast laughing at how gross it looked, smelled, and tasted. Once the novelty wore off, the jar was stored with other little used items and will probably be thrown away very soon. Happy tasting!

This goo is good enough
Although not for everyone (many people seem almost allergic to the stuff), I'm very fond of it - having been raised eating it. For those who can appreciate the strange flavor, it's a very good spread (preferrable to vegemite in my opinion). But definitely approach with caution, as it's something of an acquired taste.
